Vessel has (3) private cabins, and (2) heads. One of the cabins is used as an office. Forward are 2 berths (V-berth cabin), Aft is a large owners suite with queen berth
Vessel is entered from wide swim platform to full beam aft deck. From here it is easy access to the cockpit through cutouts in the coaming.
A wide doorway opens from the cockpit into the Pilothouse, which contains a dinette, chart table and helm. There is a 360-degree view from the pilothouse which lends to a bright and airy feel as well as excellent site lines to all sides for the helmsman.
A curved stairway leads down from the pilothouse to the lower Salon which contains a second inside dinette, with curved seating, galley, and extensive storage cabinetry
Forward of the Salon is a private cabin with V-berths, and lots of storage. There is a watertight bulkhead between the salon and forward cabin with a proper watertight door.
Amidships is the engine room with excellent access and room within.
Also amidships is the office, and aft of the Salon is the large owner’s suite with centerline queen berth.
Entire vessel is finished in rich woods with opening hatches and ports throughout for ventilation.
Construction specifications dictated headroom at 6”3 throughout (much more in Salon).
Workshop/Engine room with all mechanicals and workshop with natural light and ventilation provides standing room and management of the systems. Interior is teak finish with multi-coat satin glass varnish finish. Solid Teak cabinets doors, wardrobes, handrails, drawers, etc. throughout. All doors are louvered for ventilation. All sole plates latch down. Teak and holly floors in accommodation areas. Galley with teak cabinets and trim, lots of counter space.

The Mandarin 52 is one of the world's only blue water cruising yachts which will also navigate most of the European and U.S. canal systems. A deep sided and safe cockpit, fully scuppered with a sun and rain shade at pilothouse door. Ten deck and stern platform storage boxes with scuppered secure covers. Two dedicated to line and sheet storage, very important on a motorsailer. Shower fixture installed at transom, hot and cold water. Strong LEWMAR Ocean hatches in deck and pilothouse. Each cabin has an escape hatch. Stainless steel ports in hull with strong tempered glass. Eleven total. Faux Teak cockpit seats using an epoxy bedding system for ease of maintenance. PILOTHOUSE:
Pilothouse is fully scuppered with storm board companion way hatch to main saloon for extra safety. Engine controls and steering in pilothouse. Marine circuit breakers for all boat operations and for electronics installed in the pilothouse. Safety monitor panel to give visual and audio indication of the status of all the systems in the vessel. Basically allows the person on watch to know everything that is happening in the boat with instant fault warnings. Audio warnings for high bilge water, engine raw water flow, high engine room temperature, water leaks at the intake trunk area (covers engine room intakes, all water filters, fresh and raw water pumps, engine exhaust and water heater). Visual indication of any electric pump running: audio pump overrun alarm if any pump runs over one minute (can be adjusted up to three minutes). Audio alarms can only be defeated by a key switch. Teak helm wheel. Pantograph windshield wipers with fresh water wash. Forward windshields are heavy 10mm safety glass and slanted pilothouse design reduces water pressure on glass and boat structure in a serious green water situation. RICHIE navigation compass.

Stern platform designed as an "open cockpit" with rails, steps to back deck and storage boxes which can be used for seats when underway. The aft gate folds down to become a boarding ladder. A great place for fun and fishing. A dinghy outboard can be easily stored in one of the aft platform storage boxes.

WINCHES; Five (5) Harken winches on the cockpit, the largest three aft are all electric. The aft center is the main sheet, the two other aft power winches are used with the foresail (usually the Genoa), then there are two more manual winches on the cockpit for the staysail. There are four more smaller winches on the mast for halyards and such, for a total of 9 winches

ENGINE: IVECO NEF97-MMN28.1 210 HP 6-cylinder turbo diesel with TWINDISC marine transmission. Complete engine instrumentation including high temperature, low oil pressure, and cooling water flow alarm. Special soft engine mounts with engine mounting separate from the vessel's main stringers to nsure vibration isolation. Two inch stainless shaft connected to a thrust bearing and then to the engine through a splined universal joint drive shaft. Sea chest with strainer and stainless ball type sea-cocks on all inlets. Primary and secondary fuel filters. Drip pan under engine with oil trap overflow. Bronze underwater gear except for stainless shaft. 5-Blade MAXPROP 32” Whisper Folding Propeller, fully tuned and adjusted.
OEM Four bladed propeller properly balanced and sized to selected engine as spare. Custom designed water-cooled muffler with relieved underwater exhaust. Dual, large capacity engine room blowers with noise isolated vents. FRP fuel tanks well baffled and braced. Stainless steel ball valves at each end of fuel lines. Large cruise tanks double vented with 2", not 1 1/2", deck fills for easy filling. FRP fuel tanks enclosed in 18mm plywood saddles. Thick side and baffle construction is double lined with 1 1/2oz mat using isophalic resin. 284 gallon cruise tanks, P&S; 145 gallon operations tank in keel. Special acoustical insulation surrounding engine room.
This custom-built MANDARIN 52 MOTORSAILER was specified by construction drawings approved by Seahorse Marine and reviewed by both the current/commissioning owners and an external Navel Surveyor multiple times during construction. She has a modified Chef’s Galley within the salon rather than in the companionway as per the standard Mandarin 52 configuration. Redundancy on major systems (electronics, autopilots) incorporated at design stage.
CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICS: Clear gelcoat was used below the water line and the first mat layer is installed resin rich using vinylester resin for blister control. Bottom sealed with double epoxy seal. Deck and topside lay-up include outside laminates. 3/4" balsa core for stiffness and temperature insulation and mat with double roving inside laminate. Overlapping and interlaced double lapping at stem and keel and UDR reinforcements at chainplates and stringer caps for extra strength. Bottom solid lay-up varies from 5/8" to 1 1/2". Quality bottom paint has been maintained -. Hand roller used for proper resin/glass ratio and to minimize air encapsulation. Hull to deck joint bedded in epoxy, bolted and double bonded inside and out with UDR. Interior construction to allow easy access to hull to deck joint. Four large FRP hull stringers. UDR reinforced and built high enough to act as saddles for sole plates. All interior furniture heavily glass taped to hull for additional reinforcement. All plywood WBP grade or higher. Exterior teak brightwork limited to cockpit edge. Caprail has stainless trim. Heavy duty hull rub rail with polished stainless cap. Vessel painted with LPU.
