Krogens are renown for their highest-quality materials and build process. Wander Bear's JUST REPAINTED hull and superstructure molds are high-grade female tooling. Solid fiberglass below waterline with blister-resistant vinylester resin utilized on the first two laminates below the waterline. Impact resistance is achieved with Aramid/FRP reinforced stem and stern bottom areas, the same material that is known as Kevlar. A massive stringer system provides high strength and lower weight. Superstructure includes Knytex® surface mats for print-through reduction. Marine-grade plywood bulkheads with molded fiberglass hat section stringers.
The well-kept teak deck rails have winter storage covers for maximum protection. Boat and fore decks have a GripTex® non-skid finish. Bulwark has molded plank lines with gel coat finish. Polyurethane formulate marine sealants are used at hull-to-deck and boat deck joints and exterior fittings.
Enter the bright and cheery saloon from what is known by Krogenites as their "back porch", through a large aluminum welded door. To starboard is a dinette with a hi-low movable table, to port is an open concept with twin Ekornes chairs (the best!). Equipped with the optional back window, all windows open with protective screens. Opening the back door on to the totally protected cockpit makes for a far more comfortable living room experience when compared to similar sized yachts. Even the lighting has been upgraded to LED!
The galley is forward of the saloon, and boasts the finest quality and convenience features. There is abundant storage throughout, no need to scrimp on the food supply here! The counter space is comparable to much larger yachts. Across from the galley is the library/bar area that offers even more space for storage! There are large portlights in the galley and at the library/bar area. Wander Bear's galley includes:
The master stateroom is forward, providing superior light, headroom and ventilation provided by one Lewmar Ocean Series deck hatch, four opening portlights and two fixed portlights. The master berth includes a comfortable truly queen-sized mattress, that lifts using gas struts to reveal a cavernous storage compartment, and has four large drawers at the foot. There are two huge hanging lockers and numerous storage compartments too.
The guest stateroom is located on the starboard side, amidships and has the feel of a den rather than a guest quarters. There is large desk with a settee that when pulled out, makes into a very nice double berth. Additionally, a pullman berth on the forward bulkhead can be stowed when not in use. This stateroom comfortably sleeps three. There is a large hanging locker, and ventilation is provided by two opening portlights.
To aft, there is an insulated & dogged engine room door, that provides easy access to the starboard side of the engine room. There is also engine room access through the saloon sole.
The head has plenty of storage provided in the large medicine cabinet and lockers. A generous molded stall shower with a bi-fold glass door. The toilet is a fresh-water-flush, SeaLand VacuFlush unit. A Tankwatch II holding tank gauge is included.
The raised pilothouse provides great sight lines and is only a few short steps up from the saloon on normal riser stairs, complete with banister. There are built -in storage compartments in the steps as well as a book shelf over the steps. Welded aluminum Dutch doors to port and starboard can be dogged-down to create a watertight seal. The settee/ watch berth converts to a double bed for extra guests. A teak high-low table provides the perfect work space for a laptop and who wouldn't want an office with a view? The teak-armed Pompanette Helmsman chair affords the captain total comfort under way. There are multiple cabinets, drawers and compartments providing plenty of storage.
This is a true working pilothouse!
